Ticket Zone celebrates extended run of record-breaking Pink Floyd exhibition

Ticket Zone has announced their involvement with the Pink Floyd, Their Mortal Remains exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum in London. The event has been running throughout the summer and has now successfully extended its run until mid-October due to record visitor numbers.

Ticket Zone is providing the exhibition’s direct online sales channels, as well as managing the UK ticket agent distribution via its trade desk services.

The agreement involves managing the allocations for four main agents (Ticketmaster, See Tickets, Love Theatre and Encore Tickets), co-ordinating the whole sales process via these outlets, as well as managing the online sales traffic from the main Pink Floyd web sites.

Established in 1988, Ticket Zone provides companies with a mix and match approach towards ticketing, including ticket sales, ticket fulfilment, contact centre and customer services, allowing clients to select services to match their need and budget.

Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains is described as a ‘spectacular and unparalleled audio-visual journey through Pink Floyd's unique and extraordinary worlds’. The exhibition has been heralded as one of the museum’s most popular exhibitions ever and chronicles the music, design and staging of the band, from their debut in the 1960s through to the present day.

The exhibition has is set to break records, with around 10,000 visitors per week and has received rave reviews from the press.

Wayne Munday, Chief Operating Officer at Ticket Zone, commented: "Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains is a unique event, a-once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the band in a truly personal way.

“Ticket Zone has a long history of delivering ticket services behind the scenes, built over the past 35 years. We’ve worked on other innovative products including Walking with Dinosaurs, Batman Live, Ice Age Live, Alice in Wonderland and The Twits and we are seeing more and more experiential events in the industry - we expect this trend to grow, particularly celebrating iconic artists and other heroes and heroines that have become part of our culture.

“As a result of this trend, we’re noticing more clients using a trade desk service - it is cost effective, gives more control over ticket sales, removes the complexity of dealing with multiple agents and allows promoters to focus on running and publicising the event.

“This is an exciting event where a bit of rock ticket culture meets museums – we’ve developed inside knowledge of both markets and are proud to be involved.”

“Ticket Zone have also developed and introduced some innovative technology enhancements to bring all the various sales channels into a single strand of sales data control which has had a major positive impact on the events marketing intelligence.”
