One of the UKs longest running ticketing service providers has reported a successful season providing ticketing services to football clubs during play-offs and Wembley Finals.
Dubbed the ‘best kept secret in ticketing’, Ticket Zone is one of Wembley’s three preferred suppliers and recently provided ticketing services to Exeter City for the play-offs in May.
Ticket Zone, based in Devon, provides football clubs a range of ticketing services, including a contact centre for ticket sales, customer services and fulfilment of physical tickets to fans, allowing clubs to select services required at busy times.
Established in 1988, Ticket Zone has a history of supporting football clubs, including Southampton, Liverpool and Everton - allowing clubs of all sizes to quickly sell, administer and issue tickets within the notoriously short timeframe.
Wayne Munday, Chief Operating Officer at Ticket Zone, commented: "We are very proud of our track record and experience in providing ticketing services to football clubs over the years. It is testimony to our service level and experience that we have remained one of a few authorised providers of ticketing services capable of meeting the needs of football clubs of all sizes”.
"We know that all clubs, but particularly the smaller ones, can struggle with managing the ticketing side of the play offs and finals. These clubs often have a very small team handling ticketing - the play-offs involve the processing of much higher numbers of tickets which will include processing, despatching and handling customer enquiries for sometimes up to 35,000 tickets in less than a week.
“Our service provides a ticket outsourcing facility to football clubs, allowing them to handover both the resource heavy tasks and the worry to a trustworthy company. We are an experienced ticketing agency and can take this element of worry away from clubs, allowing them to focus on marketing and event organisation.
"With a long history of working behind the scenes with football clubs over the past 35 years, we have built up a great deal of knowledge about the sector and know how to meet the unique demands.
“Although we are one of Wembley’s three preferred ticketing suppliers we often get overlooked in favour of more centrally based ticketing organisations. However, we believe being based in Devon has many strengths - we are the best kept secret in the industry and want to share our expertise with more football clubs in the future.”
Earlier this year, Southampton Football Club was faced with the same sort of challenge - selling, allocating and sending out 33,500 tickets over four weeks for the 2016/17 EFL Cup Final at Wembley. The Club asked Ticket Zone to manage the fulfilment of the match.
Michael Jolliffe, Ticket Office Manager at Southampton Football Club, said:
"When we found out we had such a short amount time to sell and process such a large number of tickets, we chose to outsource the fulfilment of the event to Ticket Zone.
"They fulfilled all elements of the brief and our event was a complete success. We were extremely impressed by the professionalism shown by Ticket Zone throughout the process, from the initial conversations through to planning the event, and then the support once we were into the fulfilment.
“From a club perspective, the ticketing of the game went exceptionally well, and Ticket Zone’s assistance and contribution was vital to that success.”
Exeter City Football Club also recently used Ticket Zone to sell and distribute around 17,000 tickets for the League 2 Play-Off Final at Wembley Stadium.
Alan Hay, Head of Ticketing and Retail at Exeter City Football Club, said: "Outsourcing the tickets to Ticket Zone was a brilliant business decision, allowing us to focus on preparing for the match whilst ensuring our supporters could purchase tickets quickly and easily.
“Ticket Zone’s relationship with and knowledge of Wembley is fantastic – working with them took away the stress of processing thousands of tickets in a short timeframe.”
